  • Singapore’s EV Charging Act (EVCA)
  • Land Transport Authority (LTA) requirements
  • National technical standards (TR 25:2022 + A1:2025, SS 638)

All chargers we supply and install are LTA-approved and carry the official certification label. Installations are performed exclusively by EMA-licensed electrical workers (LEWs), verified by LTA-recognised Equipment Specialists (ES), and handed over with full documentation.

EV Charger Compliance & Safety

For public-accessible locations such as shopping malls, HDB carparks, and petrol stations, only Type 2 (AC) and CCS2 (DC) interfaces are allowed, with CHAdeMO permitted only as an additional option.

Non-public-access sites such as condominiums and private workplaces may use Type 1, CCS1, proprietary connectors, or CHAdeMO if they comply with TR 25.

For residential homes, chargers may only be installed where vehicles are normally parked. Safety is ensured by compliance with detailed requirements, including installation of clearly marked emergency isolation switches within reach (generally within 15 m of the charger), prohibition of adapter use or extension cords, and mandatory approval for any equipment modification.

Standard UTICA Workflow

  1. Site Survey & Load Analysis – Review of parking layout, available capacity, and charging needs.
  2. Model Verification – Ensuring charger is on the LTA-approved list.
  3. Professional Installation – Conducted by LEWs, certified by ES, issuance of Certificate of Fitness (CoF).
  4. Registration & Labelling – LTA registration and official approval labels.
  5. Handover & Training – Final site commissioning with user training on safe operation and load management.
  6. Documentation – As-built diagrams, test reports, LEW records, ES certificates, O&M manuals, and inspection templates.

Preventive Maintenance:

  • Restricted-access sites (private homes): every 24 months
  • Public/commercial sites: every 6 months (ES) + every 12 months (LEW)
  • Records of CoF/CCF maintained for at least 2 years for audits

Costs & Grants:

  • LTA registration fee: S$750 per charger
  • ECCG grants available for qualifying projects (e.g. condominiums, mixed developments)
