UTICA® Inverter PV6 – Smart Hybrid Energy Storage System

Smart Solar, Storage and Grid Management in One System

The inverter is the operating centre of a modern solar energy system, converting electricity generated by photovoltaic modules while coordinating how energy is supplied to the property, battery storage and the electrical grid.

The UTICA® PV6 is a smart hybrid inverter designed to bring these functions together within one compact system.

It supports solar generation, battery storage, grid interaction and backup power, giving property owners greater flexibility over how solar energy is generated, stored and used.

With up to 6 kW AC output per unit, dual MPPT inputs and support for multiple units in parallel, the PV6 can be configured for a range of residential and larger solar energy applications.

UTICA® PV6 Smart Hybrid Inverter

The PV6 combines solar conversion, battery management and grid control within a single hybrid inverter platform.

During normal operation, the inverter converts DC electricity from the photovoltaic array into AC electricity for use within the property.

Where compatible battery storage is installed, surplus solar energy can also be directed into the battery for later use.

The PV6 can then manage energy flow between:

  • Photovoltaic Modules
  • Property Electrical Loads
  • Battery Storage
  • The Utility Grid
  • Backup Power Circuits

This gives the solar system greater flexibility than a conventional grid-tied inverter alone.

Key System Capabilities

  • Up To 6 kW AC Output Per Unit
  • Up To Six Units Connected In Parallel
  • Approximately 97.5% Maximum Conversion Efficiency
  • Dual MPPT Solar Inputs
  • Support For Up To 150% DC Oversizing
  • Compatible Battery Storage Integration
  • Emergency Power Supply Switching In Under 10 ms
  • IP66-Rated Outdoor Protection
  • Fanless Natural Cooling
  • Integrated Electrical And Battery Protection Features

Why Choose the PV6?

Solar and Battery Integration

The PV6 is designed to manage both photovoltaic generation and battery storage.

During periods of strong solar production, energy can be used directly by the property while surplus generation can be stored in a compatible battery system where configured.

Stored energy can then be used when solar generation is lower or according to the system's operating strategy.

Backup Power Support

The PV6 includes Emergency Power Supply functionality with switching in under 10 milliseconds.

When paired with suitable battery storage and correctly configured backup circuits, this allows selected electrical loads to continue operating during a grid interruption with minimal transition time.

Flexible Solar Array Design

Dual MPPT inputs allow the inverter to manage separate photovoltaic strings independently.

This provides greater flexibility where modules are installed across different roof orientations or operating conditions.

Support for up to 150% DC oversizing also allows the photovoltaic array to be sized above the inverter's nominal AC output where appropriate for the system design.

Modular and Scalable

A single PV6 provides up to 6 kW AC output, while multiple units can be connected in parallel for systems requiring greater capacity.

This allows the inverter architecture to be adapted as solar generation, battery capacity or electrical requirements increase.

Designed for Singapore's Operating Environment

The PV6 uses an IP66-rated enclosure suitable for protected outdoor installation and a fanless natural-cooling design.

The absence of a mechanical cooling fan reduces moving parts while supporting quiet operation and lower routine maintenance requirements.

Monitoring and Diagnostics

The PV6 includes local display and communications interfaces for system configuration, monitoring and diagnostics.

When integrated with compatible UTICA® monitoring infrastructure, system information can also form part of the wider SOLARGAGA™ technology ecosystem.

Integration Pathway for Installations

  1. Site and Electrical Assessment UTICA® reviews the photovoltaic system requirements, property electrical infrastructure, proposed inverter location, battery requirements and backup-power objectives.

  2. System Design The PV6 configuration is designed around the wider energy system, including:

  • Photovoltaic Array Capacity
  • Solar Module Configuration
  • MPPT And String Layout
  • Battery Storage Capacity
  • Property Electrical Demand
  • Backup Power Requirements
  • Grid Connection
  • Electrical Protection
  • Monitoring Requirements
  • Future Expansion
  1. Installation and Commissioning The inverter is installed with the required DC and AC protection, battery connections, communications and electrical interfaces.

The system is then commissioned and tested to verify correct solar conversion, battery operation, protection settings and grid interaction.

  1. Monitoring and Ongoing Support Following commissioning, operating data can be reviewed through compatible monitoring tools.

UTICA® can also provide ongoing technical support, system diagnostics and maintenance as part of the wider solar asset lifecycle.
